Bernd´s report of the day:

04:15-We get to the border to Manipur, lined with around 200 trucks at the roadside. There we catch up with the bus including our helper, which we should have followed through the night, actually…

04:30- The gate opens and we can slip through without being asked for our permit by the dozy sentries.

04:40- Our trip is constrained by a landslide that had taken place a week before. We go on foot. Olaf brings the jeep safely through that danger.

05:00- The trip proceeds …

07:30- A second landslide that happens just in front of us, we have to leave the jeep and fight ourselves afoot through the mud.

11:30- Loading of a coach, on it’s roof a part of us continues the trip

11:50- The trip is constrained again, this time by flooding of the street and an accident, again proceeding afoot

13:00-Well, no looking back, onto Imphal by bus again

15:00- Arrival, and really, hardly to believe: curfew. Two youngsters doing pushups are surrounded by military. What happens tomorrow???

20:00-Dinner

22:00- We try to overcome the hopeless mood with some rice beer
