The boys woke up in Eisenach. This place, only one hour away from Jena, was under discussion, because being so close was quite nerve-racking for families and the boys, but they had a bet to win…
At 11:45 a.m. nothing can be seen from the boys yet. The Weather is great and was of course ordered. Now one after another the families and friends arrived. The tension rises, are they gonna make it? And then it happened…
A few minutes before 12 and after about 45.000 km (28.000 miles) they arrived. The first door flew open and Gunnar ran out of the car to get into the arms of his sweetheart…
Now the area around the “Hanfried” was filled with people and everybody hugged the home comers…
It was now over…
Exactly at 12:00 all the boys hit the “Hanfried” and so their journey was over. The band “Saxesful” played the song “I’m walking” and now they even got an official welcome from the mayor of Jena. Hoffi said a few words too and gave a signed shirt to the mayor.
After that the boys had to give a lot of interviews, which were later in the newspapers, on the radio or TV.
But there was enough time to relax in the restaurant “Alt-Jena” where there was served beer and sausages.
